With the stressful examinations behind you, there is finally a cause for celebration! Perhaps there is a sense of liberation, a sense of relief, or just sheer exhaustion… whatever it is, it is definitely time for you to de-stress, relax, and reward yourself for all the hard work that you have put in. You deserve to be very proud of yourselves.
Before you fully bid goodbye to your exams…remember to tidy up and sort out your folders, past papers, and notes! Nothing beats the feeling of getting rid of anything you don’t need, and seeing a well-organised and tidy desk. It also means you are going to be fully ready for term to start again. Admin work may seem tedious but you will be thanking yourself later when term starts again.

Here are some of the many things that you can do to wind down and enjoy the summer!
Spend time with your family (ditch the hours cooped up indoors with your textbooks and enjoy some time with the people who love and care about you!)
Make a movie/TV show bucket list and enjoy the well-deserved entertainment
Head to the beach for some fun in the sun!
Head on a hike with your friends or family. Nothing beats the feeling of the wind in your hair when you reach the top of the climb, and Mother Nature always has a way to put you in a good mood (provided the weather is good of course!)
Enjoy some of your favourite tunes and new music that was released that you may have missed during exams
Catch up with your friends
Try out volunteering with an organisation that has addresses social and environmental issues that you care about
Try out a brand new sport
Don’t forget to also take the chance to brush up on your language skills as well !
Set yourself a summer reading bucket list. Challenge yourself to read many different genres. Goodreads is a great place for you to find some great reading lists.
Read different English newspapers from different parts of the world. How are they reporting the same news? What perspective do they take? Understanding different perspectives on key global issues is vital for any public speaker, because you need to be able to critically approach and present a perspective towards any topic.
Write a diary entry or personal reflection in English. This is a great way for you to reflect on how you overcame any challenges during the exam period, and perhaps set new goals for yourself now that exams are over.
For those of you who want a real challenge, how about attempting to write some poetry?
